2021 sees the launch of a brand new concept from the City of Dubbo Turf Club, Club Dubbo and the Dubbo Golf Club.

Dubbo’s Biggest Sports Weekend.

This event, spanning the Saturday-Sunday of September 11th-12th features some of the best in community sport.

On Saturday the 11th interested parties can play in either a Pairs Bowls Tourney at Club Dubbo, for a $4000 kitty, or tee-off in the Dubbo Gold Cup Golf competition at the Dubbo Golf Club, with the winners getting free entry into the Gold Cup Marquee.

Then on Sunday the Dubbo and Gilgandra Toyota Gold Cup returns to the Dubbo Turf Club.

This is the feature event of the local racing calendar and will see some of the very best local and state-wide horses compete for the $100,000 Toyota Gold Cup and over $300,000 in additional prize money.

Punters are likely to see the feature horses of local stables as the likes of Kody Nestor, Kylie Kennedy and Clint Lundholm continue to produce winners across the state.

The Dubbo Turf Club President, Chris Davis, had this to say about the weekend.

"The great thing about the Gold Cup is that it is a chance for the Club to really showcase the progress we've made in the last couple of years and the strength of racing in Dubbo and surrounds. The Biggest Sports Weekend concept just enhances that as people can now come and engage with the best parts of Dubbo for the whole weekend and the whole community benefits."

Anyone participating in the Golf and Bowls tournaments preceding the Gold Cup will receive free entry on the day and be offered half-price marquee and luncheon tickets.

There will be a Biggest Sports Weekend Luncheon for those participating in the associated tournaments with drinks, food and entertainment provided.
