With 6 wins and 2 seconds in his last 10 starts it is hard to find a local horse in better form than the Dar Lunn trained Classy Rebel.

In his last outing he beat home established winner Patrick May in the Open-Class Collie Cup at Gilgandra over 1280m, leading from pillar-to-post.

Dar has done a fantastic job bringing this horse consistently back into the winners circle after acquiring the gelding in April 2020 and although realistic about the competition likely to be seen in a Kosciuszko level race thinks given the opportunity he could run a very competitive race.

“He’s done everything right this time and if he got the opportunity we’d jump at it”.

Classy Rebel has proven form on all surfaces but relishes a bit of moisture in the track with Dar saying “He handles all conditions well but if there was a bit of weather about he obviously goes well on the wet tracks” giving the 7yo an all weather advantage leading into the big show.

Next up for Classy Rebel is the $50K Flying Handicap at Dubbo Turf Club on Cup Day where he’ll be up against some of the best sprinters in the wider-region. How he shows out there will be the best indicator yet for his Kosciuszko chances and with no form like winning form he is sure to be solid in the betting on September 12th.
